Immediately after collecting blood in a tube, gently invert the tube 8-10 times. This will allow the additive that is present in the tube and the blood to mix completely.
Free Thyroxin (Free T4) will be reflex ordered and reported when TSH is <0.27 mcIU/mL or >4.20 mcIU/mL.
